[Jaguar 1963]
Fender Jaguar 1963 Introduced in mid 1962, this short scale (24") guitar was a high-end instrument. Actually, it was considered Fender's top-of-the-line model until 1967. The Jaguar’s pickups are more powerful and better shielded, which eliminates hum. The shorter (24 inch) scale was favored by more smallhanded guitarists. The Jaguar shared its unique rhythm circuit with the Jazzmaster. This allowes a pre-set tone for rhythm playing. Similar body and peghead shape to Jazzmaster, 2 white oblong pickups with notched metal side plates, 2 knobs and 3 individual pickup switches on treble side, selector switch and 2 roller knobs on bass side, string mute, Jazzmaster type floating tremolo. Fender contour body, three color sunburst finish. Celluloid tortoise three layer pickguard with two pickups. Serial number on neck plate. Veneer Rosewood fingerboard. Our 1963 Fender Jaguar is professional refinished by the Dutch luthier Patrick Koopman with the original three tone sunburst nitrocellulose lacquer. It shows a soft patina with a fine craquellee, indistinguishable from original finish. Further the guitar is all original, but lacks the original case. Guitar comes with a form-fit hardshell case. This instrument belonged to Dutch guitarist Ger Hoeijmakers of the Frank Boeijen Groep.
